Beginning Sundays in June for the summer of 2010, NNEHA is excited to introduce our Mites and Squirts Developmental League, which will be based off of the American Development Model. This developmental league will consist of seven sessions and will focus on building player abilities and game sense while providing a fun and structured learning environment. Utilizing USA Hockey’s American Development Model, NNEHA will provide quality instruction in combination with cross-ice games to improve our participants in all aspects of ice hockey using a FUNdamental approach.
Each session will consist of an hour and ten minutes. Players will receive 30 minutes of instruction geared towards the development of the stride, balance and agility, and edgework. Following the instructional session, there will be three ten-minute variations of cross-ice games. Teams will play 3 v. 3 with emphasis placed on puck handling, passing, and creativity. Our goal is to provide our younger skaters with an opportunity to have fun and improve their abilities with excellent instruction and guidance from the NNEHA staff. We want to create an environment where it promotes creativity, players learn time and space, develop hockey sense, and most importantly more touches of the puck for every player. We hope to see your child this summer for a great day of hockey.
